EtonX uses OpenAI (the company behind ChatGPT) to provide automated feedback on student answers. This service helps us deliver timely and constructive feedback to support your learning experience.

  • Submitted Responses: To allow the generation of specific feedback on your answers.

OpenAI processes this data solely to help EtonX provide educational support to learners. OpenAI is bound by strict data protection agreements and will use your data only as instructed by EtonX. We ensure that all data shared with OpenAI is managed securely, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Data Security

We take your privacy very seriously and have put in place appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your data secure. Personal data is stored on secure servers managed by our sub-processor, Accipio, which hosts the EtonX learning platform on UK-based servers.

The security measures in place include:

  • ISO27001 certification for information security management.
  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all admin accounts.
  • Daily vulnerability scans and annual penetration testing.

Additionally, only authorised personnel from EtonX and Accipio can access your data, as listed in our Data Sharing Agreement.

We may share your personal data with our service providers, Accipio, Hubspot, and OpenAI, in order to deliver our services and manage our marketing communications. These partners are bound by strict data protection agreements to use your data only as instructed by EtonX, and to maintain its security.

  • User Accounts: Your account will be maintained for two years of inactivity, after which it will be deleted along with all associated data.
  • Course Results and Progress: Performance data, including certificates, will be anonymised one year after your access ends.
  • Records of Time Spent and Logins: Retained for up to two years for analytical and support purposes.
  • Marketing Data: We retain your contact details for marketing purposes until you withdraw consent or after a period of inactivity.
  • Chats Related to Your Needs: Retained for up to two years to provide continued support and to help us improve our services.
