Life skills from a world-class English education accessible now by teenage students

London, June 13, 2019 – Teenage students who want to make a flying start to their university course or first job can gain crucial soft skills and confidence to achieve these goals through a live online summer school available now from EtonX, a subsidiary of the renowned Eton College in England.

Learning innovator EtonX has selected some of the most important soft skills, which students at Eton gain from their world-class education, for its EtonX Summer School – comprising two-week courses which are fully-tutored and available to students worldwide.

The Eton Summer School is available for US$399 with an early bird discounted price of US$299.

The four EtonX courses ‒ Making an Impact, Verbal Communication, Public Speaking and Critical Thinking ‒ give students between 14 and 20 years the opportunity to develop and practise essential life skills they don’t always get the chance to focus on during the school year.

EtonX’s Summer School places students from around the world into study groups of eight, who meet in the company’s virtual classroom to complete fun, interactive practice tasks. Participants are guided throughout by the company’s expert and friendly online tutors. Classes are complemented self-study tasks, videos, and peer learning tasks, leading towards a final assignment.

Students that have completed EtonX courses report immediate benefits in their confidence and ability to handle demanding situations. These include:

  • Greater confidence in interviews with recruiting universities and potential employers
  • Being able to articulate and debate ideas successfully with other people
  • Feeling more confident when giving public talks or making presentations
  • Reading online content and course materials with a critical eye, improving their grasp of subjects.

Catherine Whitaker, EtonX’s CEO and Head of Learning, explains: “Our Summer School is a must-have for teenage students who are on track for excellent exam grades but haven’t always had the opportunities to develop the wider skills which will help them excel in higher education or  workplace situations in today’s changing economy.”

Each course includes seven live classes with a tutor, learning materials, a graded final assignment and an EtonX certificate for successful students. Courses are delivered in English and students need to be aged between 14-20 years, have upper intermediate level English, and access to a computer and a good internet connection.
