Reviews from our students

“I got an insight into several interesting subjects which I haven’t heard about before, or I just didn’t pay too much attention to. I became aware to my body language, way of assertiveness, and I am trying to use all of the skills I learnt during the course.”

Bernadette, Hungary

“I enjoyed writing on discussion board and reading others’ opinions. Formulating thoughts, especially in English, is a little hard for me, so I think it was really helpful. And it’s also always interesting to read others’ ideas.”

Rita, Belarus

“Everything was wonderful. The tutor explained everything clearly so that we understood everything and got very important experience communicating with an English-speaking person.”

Violetta, Russia

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the tutors?

All our tutors are UK based and have been trained at Eton College. They are highly experienced online tutors used to working with students from all over the world. Every EtonX tutor has passed a rigorous selection and training process and has been cleared to work with children by the British government.

Will I have a teacher from Eton College?

Each course has a course director who is a teacher at Eton College. The Course Director for the Making and Impact course is Phil Macleod, Senior Tutor at Eton College. Mr Macleod has worked with EtonX to produce the course and features in videos introducing and summarising each week’s work.

Why is assertiveness an important skill?

Assertiveness is a behaviour that can help you get what you want out of life. We all have the ability to develop assertiveness but sometimes we can be passive and let others get what they want or fail to influence others by being aggressive. Assertiveness means you can express yourself effectively whilst respecting the rights and beliefs of others.

What is the difference between assertiveness and aggression?

People who are naturally assertive can tip over into being aggressive unless they learn to understand and respect other people’s thoughts and feelings. EtonX courses are for all abilities, so this course will help you develop no matter what your starting point is. Whether you are a slightly passive person who wants to become more assertive or a naturally assertive person who wants to understand the impact you are having on other people, this course is for you.
